The photomosaic™ concept is a descendent of ancient time mosaics. Mosaics, one of the oldest forms of surface decoration, date back to the 3rd-4th millennium BC. Mosaics take on a painted effect by forming pictures or patterns from compositions of small pieces of various coloured materials (glass, stone, ceramics, metals, etc). Our kids are in love with anything African so we thought this Lion Photomosaic would be wonderful. WRONG! If you have kids younger than 12, don't even think about buying this puzzle. All the pieces look so similar that it took us almost the whole day just to complete the outer edge! So unless you have lots of time and patience, which neither I nor my kids have, then consider something less challenging. Otherwise, older kids may enjoy it and get to finish it too.
