Description

My First Lab Duo-Scope (Model MFL-06) features two light sources that allows this microscope to magnify both slides and solid objects! View slides, coins, plants, stamps, insects, jewelry and more! Professional features at a toy price!

You would need two instruments to view what the Duo-Scope can do - a basic biological scope to look at specimens on a slide (light shines up from under the slide and through the tissue) and a traditional stereo or dissecting microscope to view solid objects at lower power (light shines down onto the specimen to be observed). This new Duo Scope with dual lighting allows for both types of applications! Cordless battery power makes it possible for field study.

Microscope package includes:
• 10X eyepiece 4X, 10X, 40X Objectives
• 40X, 100X & 400X Magnification
• Real optical glass lenses
• Dual focusing knobs
• 2 LED lights, above and below
• CE Certified
• CPSIA approved.

Accessory kit has 50 assorted accessories for hours of fun scientific research including:
• 5 blank slides
• 1 concavity (well) slide
• 4 prepared slides
• 2 bottles of stain
• Forceps
• Plastic test tube
• Plastic Petri dish
• And more!

Requires 3 x "AA" Batteries (not included)

My 8 year old daughter is very happy with her microscope. The magnification and lighting works very well and the product is easy to use.

Advantages: I like the extra prepared slides which showed my daughter and me what was possible with the maximum magnification.

Disadvantages: None that I can see

This is one of the best gifts my 8 year old has received... it is affordable and yet powerful enough to bring science alive with crystal clear magnification. Seems robust enough and the accessories make it more fun.

Advantages: Being able to switch between gooey stuff on slides to objects and insects we find in the garden is fantastic and my son is always thinking of things we can look at up close.

Disadvantages: It's always in use and really needs a dust cover... would be nice to receive one with the pack and not have to use the plastic bag. Just a thought... otherwise it's a great product.
